Question of the Day

Why is it when I change a diaper my sweet, precious little girl thinks she needs to fill it again. It is almost like she can't finish doing her business with a messy diaper. Just some food for thought. I am totally loving this mom thing. How can you not with a face like this?....

New Pictures

Here are some more pictures of Alli. I posted some more about the birth down below. She is pretty darn cute if I say so myself. (Maybe a little biased opinion)

I first have to say I just love being a mom, even with the lack of sleep in her first week of life. As said before Alli Jo Smith was born on March 27. It was about 2:30 in the morning and I hadn't had any contractions the whole night. I got up and holy cow I had a major contractions where I thought to myself if those keep happening like that you better get to the hospital. So I waited for what seemed like forever, and then fifteen minutes later I had another one. I stood up my water broke (Well I was hoping that was my water because if not I had serious bladder issues.) So anyway we headed to the hospital, it was the quickest trip to Burley we had ever made. I got to the hospital about 4:25. Sure enough my water had broke, but I was only at a three and the nurse reassured me I would be there a long time. That was all I wanted to hear. I told her that was fine but wondered when I could get an epidural. She told me I had to make progress. So an hour later she checked me and I really hadn't made too much progress. The doctor decided to pit me because it was the weekend and he wanted to go home, just kidding, he just didn't want to take the risk of going to c-section. So I agreed to it, and that stuff worked fast I was having the worst contractions in the world, but soon enough the epidural man showed up and I was ever so grateful. Almost instantly my pain was gone. I loved having it. For the woman who can go without an epidural that is pretty darn great, but I think I will stick to the epidural with all future births. Sorry this is a really long story, but everything progressed pretty fast. By 10:50 I was complete and ready to push, and by 11:13 Alli was welcomed into this world. All in all I had a pretty good birthing expereince. It was probably so I would have more kids in my future. This week has been a good one and Alli is slowly adjusting to life outside the womb. Micah was such a good birth coach and he is the best dad. He loves his little girl and he is even changing diapers. I am so grateful for a wonderful husband who does such a good job as both a husband and a father. I am grateful that all went well and hope things continue to do so. Enough of all that I just wrote that for remembrance someday.

Baby Update

Well I am 38.5 weeks along and had a Dr. appointment today. Well the good news...I didn't really get any from the doctor as far as having this baby goes. She must really like where she is right now. She was way high, and far into my back, and posterior, I am one centimeter but have been for like two and a half weeks now. I was seventy percent effaced which is a slight improvement. Needless to say this baby is not going to come early from the looks of it. Which is ok, but it would have been nice having her this week because Micah could be home with me all week because of spring break. But I guess I have a strong willed child that will come when she is good and ready to come. So I will just wait, and wait. Not like it is that bad I am not even due yet right? So that was a long boring update, but that is where I am at right now.On the up side I only have to work two more shifts before I get to go on maternity leave. That is a good thing, because work is making my back hurt and making me very tired, but I guess I can't really complain or I really shouldn't it could be worse. Well sorry to bore you, good bye.

Update

So I am not so good at this whole blogging thing. I figure it is time for some kind of an update. I don't have pictures though, so that will come when I can get to that. I am still pregnant, but down to the final countdown. Only ten more days to go. I can't believe how fast it has gone by. I am not going to lie, being pregnant has not been my favorite thing in the world. Woman that say they just love being pregnant have to be some kind of crazy because even without a lot of complications I just don't like it. But besides the point I can't wait to have this little girl in my arms and see what she looks like. I thought I might just do a little recap on my pregnancy. The first four months are quite a blur to me. It was like one week after I found out I was pregnant that I started to get sick all of the time. I probably puked in every parking lot and marked my territory with puke on every part of the highway I drive on. It was not fun. I was always so tired, and pretty much just worked and slept. Poor Micah probably went crazy because I didn't cook dinner much because everything just made me sick. The second trimester was a little bit better. I wasn't so sick all the time and the tiredness kind of went away, and I hadn't really started growing too much. By the third trimester, when the baby started invading my space and rearranging my organ systems that is when it became uncomfortable and I became tired again. The last couple of weeks I have not been able to sleep, and everyone says that is just preparing you for when the baby comes because you are not going to sleep then. None the less, I am still very excited to have this baby, and it wouldn't hurt if she wanted to come just a few days early because my back is killing me. So any suggestions for making a kid want to come out go ahead and share. Well that was probably pretty boring to all of you but hey at least I have a record now. I will post some belly pictures when I get a chance. That is all now good bye.
