Have I told you how much I love this girl? She makes me smile all day everyday. She is such a great baby. Yes she has her moments, especially from 6:30 to 8:00 at night. She has been rolling over for quite a while now, and sits up really well. We are still working on the crawling thing. She really scoots those legs. but I think she gets high centered on her belly. She is such a joy to have around and we really do love her. She totally has her daddy wrapped around her little finger. Here are some recent pictures of her. Enjoy!

Balanced Rock Picnic

Saturday Alli and I went to Balanced Rock with my mom and our friend Sandy. I have lived in the Magic Valley my whole life and I have never been there. We went and had a picnic and checked out the rock. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures from the day.

Here is Balanced Rock, the base of the rock is 17 inches.

Wow Time Flies

Time is just flying by. My little girl is already over four months old. She had an appointment the other day and was almost 15 pounds and 24 1/2 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for heighth and the 75th percentile for weight. She is just one chubby little girl. She is so much fun. She is just like her mom and talks all day long. It is just hilarious. She is a pretty content little kid and only gets mad when she is really hungry or really tired and fights going to sleep. Here are some pictures of her.

2 Months Old

Today Alli is two months old! I can't believe how fast the time has already gone. She is such a fun girl and is developing a personality more and more each day. She loves it when we talk to her and coo at her. She loves to coo back. She smiles lots, and is usually pretty happy. She is around 10 oe 11 pounds, but I will get the official stats at her two month appointment. She is becoming more and more alert everyday and loves looking around at her surroundings. Her favorite thing to do is sit in her bouncer chair on the table and talk to and watch mom do things. She can also look outside from that chair. She is such a precious girl and we are so lucky to have her in our family.

Update

My little Alli girl is 7 weeks old today. Time is just going by way to fast. The other day I went to put pajamas on Alli and they were too small. I think I was a little bit in denial because I still put newborn pajamas on her the next night. Micah goes on to say to me, I thought you were going to put her newborn clothes away. I said I am but I can't stand the fact that my first baby is already out of her newborn clothes. Micah proceeds to tell me "it is just her newborn clothes, what will get me is when she goes to get a drivers license." I thought this was funny, but seriously she is growing so fast. Before I know some boy (and let me tell you he will have to be some great man) will be at our house trying to get permission to marry my little girl. Well enough of that rant. Alli has been smiling a lot more lately. It is so fun to get her to get a big ol grin on her face when daddy and mommy talk to her. She is already a little talker and coos and talks back to us. She is a pretty content baby unless she really needs something like food or a diaper change. She doesn't quite sleep through the night yet, but only wakes up once, which I think is pretty good. All in all she is a very patient baby whose personality is already starting to show. I think she is going to be a funny little girl. I will have to get some video of the funny things she does. Here are some pictures from this week.

This picture just cracks me up. She is such a funny little girl. I just love her!

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers day to the best Moms in the world! To the greatest mother and friend. My mom does so much for me. I don't know what I would do without her. We can laugh about anything, and then cry about anything too. She is always there to wipe away my tears. If I am having a bad day I don't even have to tell her she already knows is my best friend and I can tell her anything. She is also a very good grandma to Alli. Thank you mom for everything. Thanks for being my shopping buddy and for all the little things you are constantly doing for me. I love and appreciate you more than you will ever know.

To my mother-in-law: It seems like a lot of people like to think of the in laws as outlaws. I don't think this for one minute about my mother-in-law. She truly is a neat lady. I look up to her and hope to be as good of a woman as she is. She raised a great son, and to her I am eternally grateful for that. I love the way she adores her grandchildren so much. Everytime I see her with Alli I know she loves her. Thank you for putting up with me and making me feel so much like a part of your family. I love you.

PS (Thanks for the idea Debi, I kind of copied you, but it was such a great idea.

Blessing Day

I can't move the picture so I guess grandma and grandpa get to be before the rest of the postAlli Jo Smith was blessed on May 1, 2011 by her dad. It was a special day enjoyed by all. Both grandpas were able to stand in along with uncles: Stewart, Lee, Spencer squared, and Ryan. Alli was able to wear the same dress that I was blessed in. When my mom first suggested using my dress I thought no way it is so outdated, but when we got it out I thought wow that is in good shape. We took it to the dry cleaner and it was good as new. I thought it was really special that Alli was able to be blessed in the same dress as me. Someday maybe her daughter can be blessed in the same dress. After church we had a lunch at our house. It was fun to get to see everyone. I am so grateful for my husband being able to bless Alli and being a worthy priesthood holder. I am grateful for Alli and the special spirit that she brings into our home. I am especially grateful for eternal families. Well enjoy the pics!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! Alli got to dress up today for the first time. I am not so sure she liked it. But it was fun for mom. Here are some pictures in her pretty dress. The Easter bunny did make it. He got her a book and a rubber ducky.

Question of the Day

Why is it when I change a diaper my sweet, precious little girl thinks she needs to fill it again. It is almost like she can't finish doing her business with a messy diaper. Just some food for thought. I am totally loving this mom thing. How can you not with a face like this?....

New Pictures

Here are some more pictures of Alli. I posted some more about the birth down below. She is pretty darn cute if I say so myself. (Maybe a little biased opinion)
Proud Grandma and Grandpa Smith

I first have to say I just love being a mom, even with the lack of sleep in her first week of life. As said before Alli Jo Smith was born on March 27. It was about 2:30 in the morning and I hadn't had any contractions the whole night. I got up and holy cow I had a major contractions where I thought to myself if those keep happening like that you better get to the hospital. So I waited for what seemed like forever, and then fifteen minutes later I had another one. I stood up my water broke (Well I was hoping that was my water because if not I had serious bladder issues.) So anyway we headed to the hospital, it was the quickest trip to Burley we had ever made. I got to the hospital about 4:25. Sure enough my water had broke, but I was only at a three and the nurse reassured me I would be there a long time. That was all I wanted to hear. I told her that was fine but wondered when I could get an epidural. She told me I had to make progress. So an hour later she checked me and I really hadn't made too much progress. The doctor decided to pit me because it was the weekend and he wanted to go home, just kidding, he just didn't want to take the risk of going to c-section. So I agreed to it, and that stuff worked fast I was having the worst contractions in the world, but soon enough the epidural man showed up and I was ever so grateful. Almost instantly my pain was gone. I loved having it. For the woman who can go without an epidural that is pretty darn great, but I think I will stick to the epidural with all future births. Sorry this is a really long story, but everything progressed pretty fast. By 10:50 I was complete and ready to push, and by 11:13 Alli was welcomed into this world. All in all I had a pretty good birthing expereince. It was probably so I would have more kids in my future. This week has been a good one and Alli is slowly adjusting to life outside the womb. Micah was such a good birth coach and he is the best dad. He loves his little girl and he is even changing diapers. I am so grateful for a wonderful husband who does such a good job as both a husband and a father. I am grateful that all went well and hope things continue to do so. Enough of all that I just wrote that for remembrance someday.
