Redneck Tree Hunting

So last Saturday we went Christmas tree hunting, and I mean literally hunting. We found a tree and then Micah shot it down. I didn't think that it would really work but it did. It took two shots but we were successful. It was so much fun!!! I think it is an official tradition. Next time we will go all day and take our four wheeler and do some trail riding. It was awesome. Oh yeah our four wheeler, I really need to post pictures of that, it is sweet. Well here are the pictures of our great hunt. The last one is the tree decorated, but it really doesn't do it justice for how pretty it really looks.

Only Four Weeks...Plus a couple of days

I only have four weeks left until I have the first semester of nursing school done. That means only three semesters to go, yay!!!! It will be great to be all the way done, but I have to learn to take baby steps and look forward to ending one semester. You can tell that not a whole lot has been going on in my neck of the woods. School is keeping me busy, my house duties have been neglected due to hours of studying in books, and busy work that has to be done if I want to pass. My hubby still hasn't got a deer yet, so that means hunting season is not over yet, and I have just been informed that it is never over, because soon he will be hunting coyotes. I guess I knew what I was getting into. Other than that I am getting excited for the holidays, I love Thanksgving and Christmas, it is so fun to decorate and cook, I love Thanksgiving because you can get away with eating what you want and as much as you want and you don't have to feel guilty. I notice that I am rambling, I just had to post something so that you know that we are still alive and kicking. That was a very random post. That is all

My First Deer

Warning: If you are not into hunting I wouldn't read the following.

So I did the whole hunting thing, and was successful. The first week we woke up way early to hike up a mountain in the dark. From 6 in the morning until 300 in the afternoon we did not see a thing. It was lame, so we went home. Last week we went with Ryan and Teresa. It was a little better, we actually saw something, but Micah decided we needed to climb mountains to get to it. It was gross, so we hiked amd waited for the deer to come and sure enough they came. I had fallen asleep, and Micah was like deer, deer, so I woke up and was running around the mountain trying to get it and trying to listen to Micah to tell me what to do, all I really remember was get the one in front, no get the one in back, no the one in front, so I put the one in front in my scope, and shot. Down goes the deer, and didn't even have to shoot again. I know most of you probably think Micah shot it for me but he didn't, I did it all by myself. It was pretty cool, but the best thing about it, was my brother didn't believe that I would get a deer so he told me he would give me 50 dollars if I did, so I think I was more excited about the money. Next year he better get me in an easier hunt though, I am not a big fan of hiking big mountains just to get a deer. I am only nineteen years old, but those mountains were brutal to me, I felt like an old woman climbing them, but that is beside the point, and well I got the deer. It made my honey proud of me. I am just blabbing now so here are some pictures. Oh and not a whole lot has been going on, school is keeping me busy, and hunting is keeeping Micah busy, sometimes we cross paths for a little while. TTFN ta ta for now!

I look like the biggest Redneck!

The proud guide, he takes a lot of credit for it, but I just think it was my mad skills, you know like numbchuck skills, computer hacking skills....

Oh yeah we got a sweet new fourwheeler, I will have to post pics of it later, it is da bomb!!

My hot school teacher!!

I just thought I would post a picture of my hot school teacher. Isn't he adorable. I think so!!! Not a whole lot has been going on in our neck of the woods. I have been busy with school. Micah has been busy with hunting, and a little bit of school on the side. Life is great!! I can't wait to be done with school, but I shouldn't be saying that because I just barely started. Oh yeah, this weekend I am going hunting for the first time ever. That should be very interesting. I will have to post about it later. I don't know how I feel about this whole thing, but I promised Micah I would give it a shot. HAHA no pun intended. That is all for now.

Hunting Success

For the past three weekends Micah has been hunting with his brother Ryan and John Larson. After two weeks of discouragement but a lot of big talk and stories of their experiences Micah shot a bull elk with a bow and arrow. It is awesome, except the story took a lot longer to tell and my attention span for his stories is not very long. I try really hard to pay attention and act interested but I am still trying to get the acting interested part down. It might take a long long time master. I probably won't master it before I am dead. I guess I knew what I was getting into before we got married. He did give me a fair warning, and I should give him credit for that. But seriously, here is an example of his stories " I was on top of the mountain and I heard a big ol elk bugle, so I stepped back and gave it a call with my cow elk call, (these bulls are in a rut and would do anything for a woman.) So then the elk came in and I swear it would have sat in my lap, I got my bow ready and shot, it was only twelve yards away. The elk went down, then I had to pack it out three miles" You get the drift. It takes a really long time for him to tell me all of this because there are a lot more details. I listen for about thirty seconds. All I need to hear is that he got an elk, because if he got an elk that means meat in the freezer, and seriously that is all I care about. Enough of that tangent. I love that Micah loves hunting. I am sure that some year I will appreciate him leaving me for hunting, but hey right now this is all so new to me. I really am happy and excited for him. He is awesome!!!
sidenote (about three weeks before I met Micah I was in sportsmans warehouse with my mom and dad getting them a tent, and I told my mom if she ever let me marry someone who loved hunting to hit me) Needless to say three weeks later I went on the date with Micah and we went to Sportsmans Warehouse on our date.Never say never. Now I wouldn't have it any other way. I have the most amazing husband anyone could ask for. He does a lot for me. I love him very much, Good job on the hunting honey. Way to get er done!!! You rock.
Here is a picture of the beauty! oh yeah there is also a picture of Micah on a horse. I told him I didn't believe that he ever rode horses, and that I couldn't see him riding one, so he had to take a picture for proof. The last picture is what I do while Micah is gone. (I go shopping too)

I study and watch Greys Anatomy

One year ago...

It has been one year ago today since I went on a blind date with Micah. I was a shy girl, yeah I know, hard to believe me shy, but when it came to guys I was. It was a blind date I almost didn't go on because I was going to go to a Sunday school party, besides I was 18 years old, Micah was 26. That is old. He was thinking, she's an 18 year old, young and immature. Little did we know the many things we had in common, from wearing to same shoes, to having the same ringtone and even having the same backgrounds growing up. It wasn't very hard to fall in love with him, but I think it was easier for him to fall in love with me. After seven weeks of dating, seven months of being engaged and three months of marriage we have made it a year. It has been so much fun. Micah is such a wonderful man. I love him sooooo much. Below are pictures of us on our first date.

Canoeing,Wedding, and other exciting times of Micah and Lindy

This weekend we went to Blackfoot for Jonathons Open House. It was fun to get to see family again. On Saturday we went up to Island Park and went canoeing with Jonathon, Alicia and Micah's sister Melodee and her family. It was so much fun. We floated down Henry's Fork. After floating we went over to Mesa Falls. That place is so beautiful. After enjoying the awesome falls and looking in awe, the biggest white trash wedding of the century occured and brought us back down to Earth. It was quite the parth. I think the groom was wearing a Budweiser T-shirt, but to dress it up he had a fancy boutinerre. It was quite hilarious. We were trying to get pictures of it, but it didn't work very well. I don't know why I didn't go and stand over there and make it look like Micah was taking a picture of me. We thought of that after we left. All in all it was a pretty fun weekend. Our last little shebang before school starts. Micah has to go on Thursday, and I start Monday. It should be really exciting!!! (there was a hint of sarcasm) This is Jonathon and Alicia

Salt Lake Trip

This past weekend we went to Salt Lake to Jonathons wedding. Jonathon is Micah's younger brother. To make the trip worth it we left on Thursday. Friday we went to the Salt Lake Temple. It was so beautiful. After that we went on a tour of the conference center. It was the first time that Micah had been in it. I went to a conference session when I was in sixth grade. It was pretty neat to tour that. It was a fascinating building. Later that night we hung out with Micah's family. They are a ton of fun. We had a good time. Saturday was the big wedding. It was the last wedding of the Smith kids. There have been three weddings in their family in the past five months. I bet it was a relief to have the last wedding done. In case you are wondering there are eight kids in Micah's family. All in all it was a good weekend. Congratulations to Jontahon. Good Job Brother. We didn't take pictures, I only have a couple from the whole weekend. I am horrible at remembering my camera. That is about it for now.

Catch Up

So I haven't blogged for a while. I can't really say that it is because we are too busy, I have just been to lazy to do it. I finished school about a week ago, but have to go back in two and half weeks. So I am just enjoying the time off. It is great. We haven't done too much lately. We went fishing the other day and then had a fish fry at my parents house on Sunday. Two weeks ago we went up tp Redfish Lake and Galena. We just went to check out the scenery. Brent and Paige, a couple of Micah's friends came out so we went and toured the country up there. It was really pretty. Other than that Micah has been out of commission. He tore his hamstring really bad a couple of weeks ago playing baseball, so we haven't been able to do much hiking or anything. He says he has to get his leg healed because hunting season is right around the corner. I guess I should enjoy as much time with my husband now, because once hunting season hits it is all I will hear about. Lately it is all I hear about. Everyday he informs me how many days are left until hunting season and how excited he is. I just smile and nod my head. We only have a few weeks of summer left. This weekend Micahs brother is getting married, so we are heading down to Utah tomorrow. That should be fun. Other than that not a whole lot is going on. Below are some pictures overlooking Galena. Enjoy!

4th of July Fun

We had a pretty good 4th. We left Thursday night and headed over to Eastern Idaho to hang out with all of Micahs friends. On Friday we went to a parade in Victor with Cody and Cassie, some of Micahs friends. It was a ton of fun. Later we went to Idaho Falls and had a barbeque with some more friends and waited for the fireworks. The fireworks show in IF is amazing. I grew up in Dietrich remember, so I havc never really been to a fireworks show, unless you count the nightly showing of them at Sea World. Apparantly the show is one of the biggest west of the Mississippi. It was pretty dang awesome to watch. After the show we headed back to Dietrich and hung out with family. Saturday night we went rockchuck hunting again but nothing was out. That was our eventful week. Everyting else is pretty good. I only have two and half weeks of school left. It went by fast. Enjoy the pics!

Camping, Fishing, Hiking and Rockchucks

We have been pretty busy lately. In our spare time we have been camping, fishing, and shooting rockchucks. One week ago we went camping up at Baker again. It was a short trip. We went up on Friday and came home Saturday night. We had a chance to go hiking up to Baker Lake. We took our fishing poles and were going to go fishing in it, but we go all the way up there and the lake was still frozen over. It was still fun to hike up there though. We also had the chance to go on some four wheeler trails. It was a ton of fun. Then last Thursday we went fishing down in Hagerman. We go to go out in a Canoe. It was fun, except everytime I caught a fish I would pull it over to the canoe and it would fall off the hook. Micah forgot to tell me that you getting drag the fish out of the water and then over to the canoe. I was supposed to leave it in the water until it got all the way over to the canoe. I just think he didn't want me to catch a bigger fish than he did. It was a pretty fun trip though. Last Friday night we went on a romantic date with Ryan and Teresa. They boys decided to take us rockchuck hunting. It was actually quite entertaining. They were nice and let me and Teresa shoot them. We each shot five. It was a lot of fun. It actually gets kind of entertaining. That is our lives right now. Enjoy!!

These are just some pictures in order of our camping trip to shooting rock chucks!

Memorial Day Camping

So I am a little bit slow at posting things. Two weeks ago we went camping up above Sun Valley at Baker Creek. It was a ton of fun. We went with Micah's brother, Ryan, and his family. We took our camper that Micah got from a friend for $100. It is interesting, but I can say that I like it a lot better than a tent. He is so proud of it! The weather for this trip wasn't the best. It would start raining, so then we were just stuck in the camper,(working on hunters ed) It was a lot of fun to to get to go with the Dietrich Smith's though. I have an awesome sister in law Teresa. She is great and a lot of fun to hang out with. My other sisters-in-law think they need to go across the country, so I don't get to hang out with them much.(Still love ya Debi) Anyway, a picture is worth a thousand words so here are some pictures from the trip.

Here is our truck hooked up to the camper.

Micah's New Haircut

Sometimes we have to much fun at this Smith house. The other night we were getting ready for bed, doing a few last minute things around the house and Micah came out like this...

This is his new haircut...Actually this is a wig he got at the DI a few years ago. He is so crazy sometimes. I guess that is why I love him so much because I can relate to crazy very well. So you would probably think that after taking this picture he would be done. I pulled the camera out for one picture and he thought it would be fun to have a little photo shoot, so I took a few more pictures. Enjoy. Our camera was kind of acting funny so the lighting is a little bit off.

Micah's True Side
Ok, so I kind of got into it to. Here I am wearing my hunters ed hat. That is the prize I got for finishing and passing the Hunters Ed course. Something is wrong with me, I can't believe I agreed to do that. Now Micah thinks he is going to take me deer hunting this fall. I am not going to complain though, because I actually kind of like it, to a point anyway. Seriously though, can't they give you something better than an old man hat for completing the course???
That was a fun night. We laughed until our bellies hurt. The sad thing is that it probably wasn't that funny. We need to get out more!

Good Times

We went on our honeymoon to Island Park and stayed in a cabin. The cabin was perfect. We had our own hot tub and everything. Yellowstone isn't very far from Island Park so two of the days we were up there we went to Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun. The weather couldn't make up its mind, there wasn't enough snow to go snowmobiling, but there was too much snow to go four wheeling. One day we were at Henry's Fork and we got a flat tire. It kind of stunk because we had to go all the way to Rexburg on a small tire to get a new tire. Rexburg, The last place either of us wanted to be on our honeymoon. :)I guess it wouldn't be a honeymoon if you didn't have the crazy little memories right?? After the second day of Yellowstone we went to Jackson Hole. This was a ton of fun except we spent an hour trying to find our hotel that didn't even exist! We made reservations online under a hotel that didn't have that name anymore. Luckily the hotel wasn't non existent, it just had a different name. The sad thing is we pulled into the right hotel when we first got there. All in all the honeymoon was awesome. Now we are back home and getting into the swing of things. In case you were wondering we live in Jerome in a little house. It is very nice because we only have to pay 300 dollars a month for rent. I like it for now, but am excited to settle where we want to be. Which will hopefully be Dietrich in a couple of years. We are finally starting to have a routine which is very nice. The best thing is we don't have to leave each other at night. It is great. No more making arrangements of who is sleeping where, or driving all over on the weekends to see each other. No more late phone calls on the weeknights. We are finally together and it is great.

Micah is working for the Fish and Game preserving wildlife management areas. He loves it. He is trying to find a teaching job for the fall. A couple of options have come up so we will see what happens. I am still doing homecare for a man, and I just started CSI yesterday. I only have to take four credits of Anatomy and Physiology to finish up my prerequisites before I start the nursing program in the fall. That will be exciting. I can't wait. Life is pretty great, and I love being married. I wouldn't have it any other way. I am pretty much married to the best man in the world. Well that is a sum of what is going on in our lives. Pretty exciting I know.

Here are some pictures from our honeymoon. Here we are at Henry's Fork. It was kind of bright out. This was just before the flat tireHere we are in Yellowstone. It is really pretty there.

This is at Old Faithful. It rained the whole time we were wating and then stopped when we were getting ready to leave.

This is just a buffalo at Jackson Hole

This is in Jackson Hole at the antler arch

Well that's all for now. Catch you later.
